Anyway,
ok So for people who have come out previous years they know I try to schedule tournaments and such. I have been pretty good with keeping the schedules.
this year I was thinking about doing a gaming schedule. Much Like a movie schedule but swapping out games maybe every 6-8 hours to keep the room fresh. Although I can really only do this on my Naomi, Neo, Hyper, CPS2, CPS3 and some regular jamma games. My somewhat dedicated and Dedicated (Like Keyboard mania) I will leave alone. I may also include the consoles stuff aside from the popular games (like DDR)
anyway I would want to do a room clear (easier said then done) for about 15-30 min While I do the swaps. Technically I could do it while everyone is in there but it would be easier to take inventory. clean the room, repair damages, and do the swaps then let everyone who wants back in inside. also gives my staff a break.
so he is a preliminary thought (not set in stone)
Friday
Swap Between 6pm-6:30pm
1. Swap KI II to MK 3
2. Swap Naomi’s
SVC2 to SFZ3U
Sports Jam to Virtua Tennis
Project Justice to Cannon Spike
3. Swap Neos

Magical drop 3 to Poochi y nyaa
Shooter
Blazing stars to aero Fighters 3

Etc... (lots to list)
4. Swap Hyper
Fatal Fury Wild Ambition to Samurai Spirits 64
5. Swap CPS 2
Pocket fighters to Puzzle Fighters

7. Swap Jammas

8. Swap Atomis wave

9. neo print
different picture carts and change out picture roll
anyway you get the idea then open back up.
I Will probably bring a footlocker full of games and boards. They Idea is to keep a good mix of games going. Then Saturday I will do a couple of swaps. one in the mourning before we open and then one maybe around Lunch time. then finally one Sunday mourning.
anyway here are the ups and downs
Downs
-People may want to still play the game I am swapping
-Having to close the room for the swap
-Having to Deal with angry people in trying to close the room for the swap
-Keeping track of all the games
UPs
-Knowing what games are available and when
-having a printed schedule of the gaming room games and events
-being able to play something different throughout the weekend
-Gets people out of the room for clean up and also easier for new people to rotate in.
so any comments. Just thought I would put it out there nothing agreed on yet and more work for me. but something I wanted to do.
I actually like the idea. Sure, for 1/2 hour it'll be awkward, but it gives people time to go to the bathroom and take a break. Maybe even go eat something?
Besides, it'll keep the room looking better and keep the games more interesting.
And as long as you announce that at a certain predetermined time the switch is going to happen, then it's not like it'll catch people off guard.
So, I vote yes for it.
I like this idea too like dugfinn said before peeps can get a rest and let the machines rest, and also it would be a great time TO GET THE CON FUNK OUT of the room and good time for peeps to re-apply de-odorant lol XD
Yea, it sounds cool. It'll gimme a chance to rest my fingers from all the pwning that'll be going on.
Agreed on the deodorant comment. It continues to amaze me on how a certain individual can attain that level of stench and can compete with the foul-ness of someone wearing a heavy duty decked out cosplay outfit..HAHAHAHAHAH!
Hey there K', i do agree you'll be "beasting" on a lot of folks but you and i will have to do some fighting. We haven't fought yet but i know i'll enjoy taking on someone with skills. On the experiment, yeah it makes sense cuz i wanted to play Samurai 5 but had to endure watching Special over and over...Anyways, it's gonna be great this year.
Btw Bruno, it's spelled Ehrgeiz but that's only cuz i've played it a lot back in the day.People should be thanking you for your creativity, giving gamers a choice(variety) is something that is not done unless it's by a cool person.
I second the deodorant comment! You can also give the room a good Febreezing between groups of people. Keeping it fresh and pleasant. -shudders- I can only remember when nearly the whole room cleared as a guy took off his shoes to play DDR. It was foul.
