So, I've had quite a few people email me about volunteering. Let me clear up as much as I can.
First off, there will be an online volunteer registration, or so I've been told (I'm not actually working on it, so I can't give you a timeframe on when it will be finished).
Now then, if you don't wanna wait around for the form or you want to attempt to ensure you'll get a certain volunteer position, you can go ahead and email me.
If you do email me, give me the following:
-your full (real) name
-an alias (if you desire - it'll be used on your badge)
-the best email address to reach you at
-where you'd prefer to volunteer (if you have a preference)
-date of birth (some positions have age restrictions)
-if you volunteered last year and, if so, where
In case you're wondering, we'll probably need volunteers to help out with things like the gaming rooms, jrock, guest relations, security, registration, con-ops, gophering, etc. Keep in mind that I can't guarantee you'll get where you want, but I'll try. I'll email everyone who gets on my final guest list well in advance and make sure you're cool with what I want you to do.
I'll apologize if I don't respond to you soon - I've got quite alot on my plate right now. But, don't worry - I will read your emails and make sure things get put in my not-so-little listy. I'll try my best to email you as soon as I can.
Thanks to all of you! We much appreciate you all. Ciao!

D - I've spoken to Jim (webcoder) about the volunteer forms recently (as in, yesterday) and we're shooting for two weeks.
Registration should be up by the end of this week, we're waiting on our merchant account to go through, but all of the coding is finished.
Tweaking the code to work for volunteers as well (much of which I believe is already done) shouldn't take long!!
Just an FYI for everyone.
I have a few questions before I decide "yes I can volunteer!" seeing as how I am not 18 and would have to go over all this lovely stuff with my parents.
How many hours do you have to work?
Do we get crash space?
Is there a minimum age? >.< *is 15*
And o.o; I know I'm too young to do certain things (as you mentioned above)... do you know what those certain things are?
heh~
I can answer a few of those things.
Normally people work 12 hours.
Crash Spaces is very dependent on how many rooms we can get an not everyone would be able to get crash space. So unless contacted about it asume you don't get space at this point.
Certain staffs have lower age allowments. See what staff you want to be on and you might be able to work on it even at 15.
Now I am not sure all the certain things you can't do so whoever knows more on that can address that question
Thankies Drew ^___^;;;
If you really need crash place, you can stay at my room. You can contact when the convention is near because right now nothing is set in stones between my friends and I
I remember last year, I had let David into my room because he really needed to shower. XD
Oops... ^.^;
I'd sort of sent you an e-mail a week or two ago... but that was before you'd made this post, and now that I'm looking at it, there's a few pieces of info from this list that I didn't include, like birth date. Shall I simply send another e-mail, then?
Sure - I'll just compile all into one... um... lump? ish thing? Hehe... *blush* Sorry - I've kinda been hiding from society for the last few weeks. I've got a semi-deadline and I gotta get this theory junk formulated, so I'm off in the overlap of physicist land and self-deprivation land. Weee!
Anyways, long story short, f you (or anyone else) doesn't hear back from me untli July, don't be too surprised. (Short story long - anything by Dickens.)
Ciao.
Alright, thanks, I sent everything. ^^; Have fun in physicist/self-deprivation lands, and good luck~ (Physics is love...)

Volunteer Registration is now up! You can use the form here to volunteer. Please fill out the form if you are wanting to volunteer, even if you have already emailed Demau (volunteers@oni-con.com) or if you are Oni-Con staff.
I have a quick volunteering question. if we are volunteering, can we still compete in things like the pumpkin carving contest?
