Question About the Artist Alley at Oni-con

My friend is really wanting to get a table in the Artist Alley this year at Oni-con, but I'm not so sure were're ready for it. Mainly, we were just going to sell sample pics of our original manga and other things as well. I was wondering if Oni-con would be a good place to get a first Artist Alley table at a convention? If so, we could use tips and such about the Artist Alley.

if you've got enough done it'd be cool to sell chapter by chapter for if you're not finished.
I didn't get to go last year-- hoping to go this year too-- I heard from one of my friends that went that there weren't all that many people selling at the artist alley. I don't know if she's comparing it to another convention like A-kon that had some 100+ tables all sold out.
Oni-con is picking up.. 7000 people turnout at least? so traffic is decent I would think...

First time Artist Alley participants

How do we go about signing up for a table? And does it cost anything? If so, how much?

We actually have a ton of rough drafts for some of our chapters, but I'm sure we'll be able to have at least one chapter done, and if we're lucky two done by Oni-con. (The thing is, I'm a perfectionist when it comes to our work.) Selling at least one chapter is better than just some random sample pics. Though, we were planning on making buttons and badges as well. Does that sound about good for a first Artist Alley, or should we try some more things as well?

Sounds good

Yeah, Oni-con sounds like a good place to start, but we might have to hold it off until next year if we're both not 100% sure. My partner is starting to consider to just going to Oni-con this year and check it out a bit more. I've seen the Artist Alley at Oni-con every year I've been there, but this will be her first Oni-con and thus is why she's starting to get a bit uncertain about it.

Even if you werent to sell well, being in the artist alley you meet tons of friendly people.

Oni-con is the most perfect place to be.
