Delta H Con

Delta H Con

This is a brand new convention near the U of H campus. T_T Personally I like GRB but for the sake of being an Otaku (obviously not on the forums yet...) this one must attend.

It's the only one so far besides the unknown dated yami con. So check it out and post here if you want to talk about the amazing Oni-con this year!

Delta H Con Update ^_^

Greetings everyone,

Just wanted to pop into the boards to say hello and do a bit of updating and clarification on Delta H Con. My name is Sarah and I am part of the orgnization team. Delta H Con is indeed a new convention to the Houston scene. We are offering a mix of Anime and Gaming events. This year it will be ON the U of H Central Campus the weekend of May 16-18th. I would like to invite you all to join us because I would love to hear your ideas about Delta H Con on our forums!

This is a three-day event that features lots of entertainment for individuals and families, plus the opportunity to learn more about the Anime and Gaming communites. Our main goal is for everyone to have a good time and meet others who enjoy Anime and Games as much as they do.

Delta H Con 2008 will be held at the University of Houston Central Campus, Houston (Its right off Spur 5). Our guests so far are Jamie McGonnigal, Glen Welch, and Seraphina with still more to come. We have lots of panels, game rooms, Anime viewing rooms, contests, social events, classes and demonstrations. Registration is only $30 until March 31st 2008! You may register online, but hurry now before the price goes up!

See you there!

so, is anyone else going to

so, is anyone else going to delta h? hehe, i'm sure it's gonna be awesome! actually, any con is probably going to be awesome if hard work and persistence[more like being annoying as HELL] got our school club permission to go.

your club doesn't need to

your club doesn't need to get permission to go to a con...you can just go ^^...

well, yeah, but for the

well, yeah, but for the school to give us credit as a club, we have to specifically do something that has to do with anime. and all clubs are to do some form of volunteering, so two birds with one stone.

oh...well that sucks :\ ...

oh...well that sucks :\ ...

Jealous Much?

At least you have an anime club.... my school says "it promotes violence"

It is a "Japanese Cultural

It is a "Japanese Cultural Society"... and as such, it is discriminatory to disallow.

What school are you at?

Japanese Cultural Society...

Japanese Cultural Society... never thought of it sounding so... educational!

I go to Dobie High School in Pasadena. Meh... it's my senior year and it's closing... I'll join one in college... U of H has one.

haha...ours is barely

haha...ours is barely allowed.

the first time the club started 6 years ago, we almost got shut down because this one officer only went along with the plan t take pictures of girls.

4 years ago, he quit the club, and because he was the student sponsor, the club shut down for the rest of the year.

then two years ago, they confronted him and he left the club and started his own, and our club was almost disbanded. but our club had seniority over his, so his club was forced to be disbanded.

this year, he went cocky and said, 'if they tried what they did a few years ago, i'll just disband the club.' i began the movement to kick him out, and it worked.

and now, with my 'behind the shadows' queenship, we've had more people than ever before...we changed the name...but stupid video gamers made the name sound so immature.

'kempner anime and video games club.' it sounds so immature, liek a little kid club. cripes.

the school tried to shut us down this year, but with all the work we've done, the principal actually changed his mind and promised us $2,000 worth of funding, which also was able to spread to parents, which let more people join.

it doesn't 'promote violence,' it's a 'japanese cultural society', you're learning about another country's culture, moreover, you can do volunteer work at cons, so it benefits the school if a con says, 'oh yeah, so and so school anime club helped us out.' makes a school feel proud. xD
