I'd define Old School Anime as being somewhere AS old as Astroboy ranging to Cowboy Beebop. Though, I don't think Cowboy Beebop is old enough really, so the level right before then.

Cowboy Bebob came out in '98, so It's not quite a decade old. I should've used Evangelion which came out in 1995...
i would say old is when Kodocha or Hanadan came out. I'd say that was near the end of the era when people had tor rely on friends in Japan to get them 18th generation copies
I personally consider Inu Yasha old school.... but probaly the OLD school this forum is talking about... is Robotech, Voltron, Astroboy, Akira, Transformers and Speed Racer... just my views.
Is old School really a valid Term anymore. I guess when people talk Old School anime to me I think of the Stuff I watched as a KID.
The term Old School is so loose though. If you say Old School Nintendo are you talking about the First Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64.
I remember When Akira Came out and it Launched the New generation of Anime at that time. So I would consider Pre Akira Old Schoool. Or is that now classified as Really Old School
So old school to me was Kimba, Astro boy, Gigantor, Robotech, Speed racer, Star Blazers, Etc
Guess it depends how old you are Some people here were not even Born when Akira came out.
Man all that has got nothing on Speed Racer and Thunder cats. Now that is Old School anime. Oh and lets not forget Sailormoon I was watching that show when I was 10. Then there is the unforgettable Unico.
