Pre-Reg error: "There is a problem with this website's security certificate."

um, when i click the "add to cart" button i get this error message and my internet advises me to not continue with any transactions. sooooo, what's the deal? XD it wasn't like that before when i was going to pre-reg but then decided to wait a bit more. is there any reason that i should worry about this site being hacked or something? i hope you can fix this before the pre-reg deadline!

No. Personally, I wouldn't worry about this site being hacked. The certificate expired or whatever, but just continue with the transaction. I had to if I wanted to get pre-regged in time. My credit card bill said Oni-Con, LLC on it, and nothing else unusual was added onto that, so you have my word.

Its still a major security

Its still a major security issue. While the chances are low that information could be stolen, your none of your credit card information is being properly protected. The fact that the SSL cert has been expired for this long makes you wonder what is going on with the management of the site in the first place.

There are a lot of computer geeks attending cons too, and its not too hard to sniff data packets coming through to a domain and its pretty easy to get all of the other information needed to grab someones info.

I have been waiting for a reply on volunteering. I still haven't get a reply, and pre-reg is ending tomorrow. I am trying to go ahead and get pre-reg, but the link is gone or something, it is not under all the info for registration.

Just in case you had not noticed. We have extended preregistration to compensate for the technical difficulties. Preregistration now ends on October 7th as per the news post. The preregistration issue should be fixed very soon. Tomorrow nightish.

Thanks for mentioning that. I was freaking out since I am still waiting for a reply on volunteering, and I do not want to pay for the badge if I make it to the list since money-wise it does make huge difference on a college student that just lost the job a week ago for stupid reason. And I do enjoy volunteering. ^.~ Wandering in the con for 3 days 2 nights on my own isn't that wonderful to be honest, rather helping the con out. ^^
